Facility: All matches will be held at Queens College – Fitzgerald Gym. The College is located at the corner of Kissena Boulevard and the Long Island Expressway in Flushing,
Rules: The Big Apple Tournament will follow the rules of play as described in the NAGVA Rules and Regulations.
Divisions: Teams must play in the appropriate division. Team Reps are responsible for ensuring non-rated players are the skill level (or below) of the division in which they register. Teams will not be allowed to shift divisions.
Officiating: NAGVA Rules and Regulations states in Section 6 that teams must provide a certified 1st referee and a certified scorekeeper for all matches. This rule will be enforced at the Big Apple. Further, the rules state that if a team cannot provide a certified 1st referee or certified scorekeeper, they must pay the cost of obtaining one from the tournament committee.
The Officiating and Scorekeeping Clinics are now online. Please go to the NAGVA website and log in to your profile and click on the Officials link to take the exams.
Teams without a NAGVA certified up-official or scorekeeper will be required to pay $50 per match per position.
If a team cannot provide a 1st referee or scorekeeper and does not pay the required fee, they WILL NOT play at the tournament and will not receive a refund.
